It ain’t easy being cheesy.

First, we just want to thank whoever squeezed the first animal udder and decided “Hm, I think i can turn that into one of the most delicious things on the planet”. Second, some of the best foods revolve around or include cheese in the dish. From adding that extra zing in your meals, to needing something to snack on, to being a solid pot luck item to parties; cheese does it all. But since the dawn of cheese, there has been MANY different types/flavours that has popped up over the years and that’s why we are here today. Join Tuong and Grate Cheese Guests Hayley Kellett, Spencer Dunn, and Simone Dorie as they sample a ton of dairy and make a very gouda Top 5 Cheeses list!

Ground Rules

  • Okay we realize we literally cannot try every single cheese out there and rank them. Geographically, we are essentially bound to what we can purchase around us but you best believe we did our best to grab the best cheeses that we can find near us. (Within reason of course. We spent way too much money on cheese for this episode)
  • Brand doesn’t matter as much in this episode. Therefore we don’t need to compare medium cheddar from Black Diamond and medium cheddar No Name for example. The nom in this example would just be Medium Cheddar.
  • We did bring crackers as a vessel to try some cheeses. The crackers themselves don’t count for the nomination.
  • We also understand that some cheeses are better as a complimentary item to a dish rather than eating a piece in isolation. Or some cheese is much better with a cracker. These are taken into consideration during the ranking but honestly it’s a samples episode. Whatever is tastiest is going to win.

Tuong’s List

Note: I represent the group of people out there that love cheese but have no idea what cheese I’m eating 3/4 of the time. I went to my local gourmet grocery store and shopped the Cheese section with the help of the fine folks there. If you live in Kitchener-Waterloo Ontario, check out .

All that to say, I’m not sure my list is an exhaustive list of all the cheeses I love but I sure did pay for all these.
