The Academy has had one of it’s most controversial years yet. Just when you think they finally “get it” they manage to take one step forward and two steps back. From everything surrounding the hosting, to subtracting and re-adding categories to the main program, to the Best Movie they chose, it’s clear that this whole awards show is kind of a hot mess. However, it’s not all cloudy skies! While this year may not have had the strongest line up of movies, it still gave us some real humdingers which we are here today to share with you! Join Tuong La and True Oscar Winners Desiree Connors Warmington, Taylor Fleming, and Leslie Cserepy as they celebrate PodCavern & Ranked’s second birthday, and rank the Top 5 Movies of 2018!

On this week’s Punch Up there’s no guest!? That’s right there’s no one joining Leslie and Angus in the PodCavern so they can relax and let their hair down. This week we see Mario and Luigi seek to find who put kale in their fridge, Georgie goes back for his boat (keen eared listeners might hear some kind of easter egg) and The Hardy Boys quit solving mysteries and live a normal life.

Annnd can you feel the love tonight?

For some reason romantic comedies get a bad rap but secretly we know everyone loves them to some degree. When done right they make you tear up, give you some good chuckles, and fills your heart with joy. And then there are the other ones which..y’know…we don’t talk about those ones. On this year’s Valentine’s special Tuong La and Love Birds Laura Gordon, Nivala Maharaj, and Alyssa Wooldridge love and laugh it out as they rank the Top 5 Rom-Coms in movies!

On this week’s Punch Up Chelsea “Pay Me” Fahey returns! Together the gang discovers Earth with an alligator and a ticking deadline, We see what Pride & Prejudice would have been like with more Space Worms and we get a new and improved Moon Boots commercial.

To kick off 2019, we have special guest Dan Foerster to talk with Tuong about the intriguing “choose your own adventure” Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, The HYPER explosive anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, and brutally violent season 2 of The Punisher!
