Ground Rules

  • Music is integral to the story, they don’t have to necessarily have to be sung out loud, but it has to be key to the movie’
  • Doesn’t need to be necessarily be classified as your traditional musical
  • Just because it has a great soundtrack doesn’t mean it qualifies. The music itself needs to play a keypart in the movie. (ie: if the movie is stripped out of this film would it still work?)
  • If a theater production of the musical was filmed then that does not count (ie: Shrek, Newsies)
  • If it is a movie adaptation of a musical it counts
