Celebrating 100 episodes of Ranked!
Almost 4 years ago there was an idea. An idea of Tuong uniting three other guests to bicker, banter, and passionately put together arbitrary Top 5 lists of anything and everything. Over the last few years we have ranked everything from Sandwich Toppings, to TV Theme Songs, to a variety of Fictional Animals. But for the 100th episode, we knew we had to go above and beyond to make a list that TRULY does not matter that also honours the legacy of all Ranked episodes (so far).

So join us as Tuong La and the A-Team Angus MacDonald, Samantha Leggatt, and Leslie Cserepy look back on all of the winners of each Top 5 list we have ever done, pit them together in a battle royale of which #1 was the best, and record a marathon episode where we rank and order ONE HUNDRED EPISODES in Ranked’s 100th Episode Spectacular!

Happy Halloween!

How’d We Get Here? HORROR is back with bonus episode 13! Travel to a modest San Francisco walk-up in Troll, then to the beautiful town of Nilbog (Troll 2) before listening to The Spookies, one of the oldest and most prestigious awards given in the Horror genre.

Just in time for Halloween, this episode explores one of the most iconic and influential movies of all time: Halloween! Discover how an old Captain Kirk mask transforms a sleepy Illinois suburb into a portrait of pure evil. One of the first entries to carve its way into the Slasher genre, follow original Final Girl, Laurie Strode, as she battles her on-again-off-again brother through the decades.

Did… did that door just move?

Paranormal Activity did the unthinkable: made just about everyone afraid of their own homes. In a stroke of genius, the series strips the haunted house story to its core and makes it relatable.  Everybody knows the feeling of hearing footsteps at night, or maybe seeing some lights flickering, or portals that transport you to the early 1990s– wait, what? The Paranormal Activity series starts firmly planted on a tripod but quickly eschews that for secret covens and time travelling camcorders. Yep.

Imagine the shark from JAWS and the aliens from A Quiet Place had a baby. That basically explains the giant sand-worms from Tremors. So grab Kevin Bacon and some sticks of dynamite because these suckers are hungry! From Perfection, Nevada to the South Pacific in Tremors: Shrieker Island, learn all about legendary battles with the Graboids, Shriekers, Dirt Dragons and Ass-Blasters.

“Hi, I’m Chucky, and I’m your friend ’till the end! Hidey-ho, ha-ha-ha!”

Holster your video game controllers and pick up your LEGO because this year’s hottest toy is the Good Guy™ doll from Play Pals! And with friends like these, who needs enemies?

For a limited time only, listeners get two-for-the-price-of-one: the original Child’s Play (1988), modeled after lifestyle influencer Charles Lee Ray, and the brand new A.I. from Child’s Play (2019)!!

John ‘The Jigsaw Killer’ Kramer has done the unthinkable: somehow made the Saw movies the most popular horror franchise of the mid-00s. Swapping a coherent plot for buckets of blood and gore, the Saw series leans on its shock value to distract from its overly convoluted and under-written continuity. “Want to play a game?” No. Now take your pig mask and get out of here.

The mantle for best werewolf story is a hotly debated subject: Is it An American Werewolf in London? What about The Wolfman? Goosebumps’ Werewolf Skin? Well screw all that because this episode is about The Howling series! 1988’s psycho-sexual horror mystery The Howling and 2011’s The Howling: Reborn, a bargain bin Twilight with a shoestring budget. Grab a Coors Light and give it a listen!

Come on down to Camp Crystal Lake where we haven’t had a single camper die for weeks!

For a fun throwback we’ll be checking out some old reels from the 1980/2009 seasons! Watch as the counselors enjoy various camp amenities such as track and field, archery and ax throwing. (Pay attention, because there just might be a cameo from every camper’s favorite former cook: Mrs. Voorhees!) If movies aren’t your thing, you can always go for a nature run with former camper/current groundskeeper Jason!

On this episode of The Improv Punch Up, we are joined by the Ridiculous, the Ravishing, the Radiant Rich Hilborn. Rich joins hosts Angus and Leslie as they try to improve some scenes from classic movies. The boys give The Pagemaster a redo that Breaks Bad over Fortnite. During a Miami Connection Jeff gets in touch with his feelings and shows off his sweet musical instrument and Shaaalotte get highjacked by a dingo. Will Dundee have something to say about it? Will it make any sense? Listen and find out!
