It’s hard to believe that we have been ranking movies (almost) every year since our very first episode of this podcast back in 2017. In fact the whole conceit of this show came from first wanting to talk about our love of movies which eventually spun out to talking about all sorts of random topics. So it’s very fitting that in our final year of Ranked we get to go back to where it all began and chat about the cinematic rollercoaster that we went through in 2024. So join Tuong La, Alyssa Wooldridge, Taylor Fleming, and Laura Gordon as they come out of the Criterion Closet one last time to rank Top 5 Movies of 2024.

Ground Rules
- Movies must have come out in 2024
- Does NOT need to be an Oscar contender. We don’t really care about that. As long as it came out in 2024 it’s fair game to us
- “Specials” don’t count as movies. (ie Comedy Specials)
- Movies that are on our list are OUR favorite movies of 2024 and therefore don’t need to be considered the “best” for everyone else.
- Documentaries count
- Some movies came out in a previous year but had a wider release in 2024. If by and large it was more accessible in 2024 (like it had an international release in 2024) then that counts.
