Can you believe this year will be the 90th Academy Awards show? NINETY! Over most of this time, The Awards have been a pretty boring celebration between (generally) rich, white, powerful people giving themselves a pat on the back and snubbing more deserving individuals/films. However, this year in particular we saw the entire landscape of Hollywood shift from more representation, to calling out shitty people in the industry, to an influx of some really great Indie movies. Suffice to say things are looking to be changing and it’s never been a better time to be a movie fan! Join Tuong La and Movie Bingers Leslie Cserepy, Taylor Fleming, and Sarah Finn as we celebrate and rank our favorite movies of 2017.
Quest Friends Forever’s Goblin Whisperer Colleen Wang joins Tuong and Angus as they learn how going through puberty can affect your basketball career, sing their way into everyone becoming The Phantom of the Opera, and Link accidentally digs up the romantic past of his fairy Godmother and an Old Wizard Man.
Lovable. Relatable. Dysfunctional. They are just like us!
TV families come in all shapes and sizes but we love them all the same for making us laugh and cry on the small screen at home. They make us forget about our own lives (and to be honest – take a break from our own families) and bring us to a world of pure entertainment. While there are many great families on television, there are some that blow the rest out of the water! Join Tuong La and his PodCavern Family Taylor Fleming, Axandre Lemours, and Reba Ollerhead as we rank the very best TV families.
The Magnficently Mustached Kristian Reimer of Blind Date joins Tuong and Leslie as they go on a steamy romantic date with a human and an orc, become spellbound as they see ‘The Vernons’ go to Hogwarts and get taught pizza magic, and finally answer the classic Goodfellas question – funny how?
We choo-choo choose you to be our Valentine!
It’s February and the time for cheesy, romantic, gushy, over-the-top gestures of love is in the air! Whether you are in a relationship, single, hate/love Valentines, or just like going on dates we got something for you! Join Tuong La and Rambunctious Romantics Catherine Ballachey, Kristine Shadid, and Alyssa Wooldridge as we discuss the best date ideas for Valentines (or any other day really).
Former ‘Woke Warrior’ of TREVOR + The Improv Embassy Val Perelshtein joins Tuong and Leslie as they sing along with the Candy Man at his shop, smash cut to The Room going to a galaxy far far away, and find out that Jack from Titanic is the world’s #1 baby daddy
Some of the best TV theme songs and intros have the power to take you back greatest moments in TV. They get stuck in our heads so we hum out the songs and forever remember fondly these shows years after the series finished. While there are so many amazing TV theme songs out there, there are some stand outs that rise above the rest! Join Tuong La as he assembles the A-Team of ‘co-host wannabes’ Leslie Cserepy, Angus MacDonald, and Samantha Leggatt as they do the impossible and rank what the best TV theme songs are.
Improv Embassy’s Head Honcho Chris takes a blue pill and joins Angus and Leslie as they learn about the dying wishes of Optimus Prime, bring violent gangs together with the power of love, and see a young Angus take the Voight-Kampff Test.
We survived 2017!
Happy new year PodCavern friends! Last year was quite the ride (to say the least) of wild ups and downs. Somewhere in all that chaos, video games decided to have one of the best year of releases and we’re here today to celebrate that! Join Tuong La and gaming nerds Ethan Howieson, Tyler Furness, and Kevin Wiler as we deliberate on the best video games that came out in 2017.
